Day 90, Wednesday, March 31, 2010

My little F.R.O.G.--Fully Rely on God--that
Ray Mayhew gave me, has traveled
to Ann Arbor with us.

Here he is sitting
on Pepper's spoon at
Appleby's!

Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow
at 8:30 AM at the University Hospital
in Ann Arbor.

Day 89, Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Laura and TeeTee arrived via bus.
I cannot find the picture I wanted
to post, so this will do for now!

I must have my SD card hiding
somewhere!

It's Nathan's 36th birthday today!

Day 88, Monday, March 29, 2010

Bonnie ordered a collage blanket
for a family Easter gift!

It came this morning
bright and early.

I'm going to take it
to Ann Arbor this week!

Day 87, Sunday, March 28, 2010

Rosie and her fiance, Troy Almli

Troy went to church with us,
and then came home 'til
early evening with us.

Troy brought me a nice
footstool!

Day 85, Friday, March 26, 2010

The duck in our pond now has a name!
Mahree has named her Gloria!
Her "husband's name is Jeremy!"
We are sure enjoying
watching her sleep, swim,
and evn listening to her quack!

Day 84, Thursday, March 25, 2010

Early this morning we
had a Mallard duck pair walking
around our little pond!
The male left after
a short time, but the
female stayed for
quite a while,
went for a nice long
swim, and left around
lunch time.
We're all hoping
they return!

Day 83, Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Sammy in front of his preschool sign!
He has adjusted so well to being in
school--I guess I have as well!
I still miss having him home everyday,
but he only goes for
3 hours a day 4 days a week.
He's learned a lot, too, and
that is what is really
important!

Day 82, Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Mahree asked me to come out on our path
last night so she could show me something.
I told her that I would do it "tomorrow", and
she was sure I would forget!

Well, I met her bus, and asked her if
she remembered what she
she wanted me to remember.

She couldn't remember; good
thing I remembered!!

I reminded her that she wanted to
show me something on our path.

We had a nice walk out in our woods,
and she showed me several interesting
finds that she had made!
Sadie and Sammy joined us.

Day 81, Monday, March 22, 2010

Our foster Mommy cat and her
4 babies are so adorable!

The 3 little girls have their eyes open,
but their brother, Adonis, is
lagging behind--he may
have an eye infection--
watching him closely!

The girls' names are
Haley Catherine
Glitter
Hilda.

Pippi, is such a good Mommy!

Day 80, Sunday, March 21, 2010

Some of the F.R.O.G.s I'm collecting
for my upcoming cancer surgery.
Ray Mayhew, one of our hospital chaplains
from Calvary Church, brings frogs to people in
the hospital--reminding all of us
 to Fully Rely On God.

I'm giving frog sox & little frogs to my family,
and I have gummy frogs to have in
my hospital room.
(the bunny is holding one of the frogs--
one bunny will stay home, and
one will come with me!)

Day 79, Saturday, March 20, 2010

Kara's 38th birthday was yesterday
when we were in Ann Arbor.
We celebrated it today!

Day 78, Friday, March 19, 2010

When we take a child along to the hotel, we usually end up going for a swim!  I took this picture before we went in the very warm pool on Friday, after my PETCT scan at the University Hospital.

The Hawthorne Suites in Ann Arbor is a very nice place to stay--we are privileged to get a hospital rate, a good breakfast is provided, and we love the suites--a comfy home away from home!

Day 77, Thursday, March 18, 2010

My nightstand at the hotel!  We stay at the Hawthorne Suites in Ann Arbor often when I have early morning appointments at the University Hospital.  My essentials appear in this photo, as I lay them out.  My book of Scripture according to topics, my cell phone (aka alarm clock), my water, my room key, my family picture, and in this case, Mahree's glasses!

I like things to look familiar, so I prepare my little place away from home as soon as I arrive in the room.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Day 76, Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Cheryl, Mahree, and me in our
room at the Hawthorne Suites.
I had a PETCT scan today
at the UofM Hospital.
Tiring day, but lots of
good times, too!
Cheryl bought us the St Paddy's
Day hats, and she and Mahree
wore their hats all over the
Hospital!  Brought a lot of smiles
to many faces!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Day 75, Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Bonnie bought herself a new
computer!  She ordered a pink
one, and is delighted with it!

She seems to be claiming
to be Irish at heart!!

Monday, March 15, 2010

Day 74, Monday, March 15, 2010

Mahree was being a frog!!

She wanted Spencer to
spray her with water,
since frogs like to be wet.
Such silly kids!

We talk a lot about F.R.O.G.
(Fully Rely On God) these days!

Day 73, Sunday, March 14, 2010

For some reason Simeon decided that he
needed to wear two caps!
He is so much more in touch with
reality-it is a real answer
to prayer!

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Day 72, Saturday, March 13, 2010

My friend, Judy De Groot,
stopped by with muffins and other bakery delectables
for an impromptu visit!
We had such a good time visiting
and catching up on our lives!

So thankful to God for friends!

Day 71, Friday, March 12, 2010

Two silly people!
Cheryl in her firefighter garb,and
Mahree with a piece of tape on her nose!

Bear is smiling, too--must be he
thinks this is rather amusing!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Day 70, Thursday, March 11, 2010

Cheryl,Rosie,Bonnie, Merica, Sammy & I
went out for lunch at Don Julio's.

Kaitie was also home, but opted
out of coming along.

We got there right after 11:00 AM, and
were able to be in a little separate area.
Sammy took advantage of
our talking, and
hid under the table.

When I realized where
he was, I put my camera down
on my lap, without aiming,
and was pleased to see his smile!

Loved the shot!

Day 69, Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Wanting to be sure our lives
are not dull and boring,
we agreed to foster a Mommy
cat and her 4 newborn babies.

Bonnie, Mahree and I picked
them up this afternoon at the
Shelter.  We took pictures of
each one, but the Mommy cat,
now named "Pippi" had
had enough, and picked up the
last kitten--Mahree was a
bit concerned!  We let the
little family settle in their crate
in a quiet room to adjust!

Rosie, Bonnie, Kaitie, Mahree, and
Merica have agreed to take care of
this little family after I am in
the hospital!

Day 68, Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Sammy asked me what happened to the
monster in the water.  It took  minute
for me to remember "Nessy", who
was in the Grand River for ArtPrize
the summer of 2009.

I knew that Nessy had been
moved to John Ball Park
Zoo's pond, so we took
a side trip on the way
home from Head Start
to see Nessy!

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Day 67, Monday, March 8, 2010

Just picked Sammy up from Head Start,
and he is showing me his man that
"has a spider on him"
You can just see his blackened nail;
splint's off, broken finger tip is
all better, except for the nail.
Love that kid!

Day 66, Sunday, March 7, 2010

Little girl, Merica,
sweet dreams in your princess ballerina bedding,
with all your blankees and stuffies
close by to keep you loved all night!

May God keep you safely in His arms,
and may you love Him and follow Him.

Day 65, Saturday, March 6, 2010

Five of my daughters dance in
God's Girls, a special needs dance
group through
Hearts in Step Christian Dance Academy
Tonight they were the entertainment
for a special needs prom!

My daughters are:
Kara--2nd from the left
Bonnie-back row Korean dress
Kaitie-next to Bonnie
Rosie next to Kaitie in pink
Shonda next to Rosie

Great group; they do an awesome job!

Day 64, Friday, March 5, 2010

Today I visited my niece, Heidi, and her beautiful children.
 I saw their new house,
had a great cup of coffee,
and just plain enjoyed visiting with them.

I brought Sydney a baby cavy--
we have the twin--they are 20 days old today!

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Day 63, Thursday, March 4, 2010

Cheryl and I like to read thru the Bible
using The Bible Experience CDs.
It uses Today's New International Version,
so I follow along to catch where
 they used "politically correct" wording.
Most of it is exactly like NIV.

Love the sound effects,
the different voices--it comes alive,
yet is word for word Scripture (with stray PC words!)

I took this picture at 3:30 PM
on our way to my CT scan in Ann Arbor.
We had just finished today's reading,
and decided to go ahead a day.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Day 62, Wednesday, March 3, 2010

My girls' dance group, "God's Girls" have been invited
to dance at a special needs prom/banquet on Saturday.
They are modeling their prom dresses--
Bonnie's sox are not part of the ensemble!
Bonnie has decided to wear her Korean costume,
so we will return her dress.
(She can keep the sox, though!!)

Day 61, Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Auntie and Spencer just finished
 his homework! He said the
fractions were too hard,
but then he did them without help!
Great job, Spence!

Monday, March 1, 2010

Day 60, Monday, March 1, 2010

University of Michigan Hospital
Today I found out that I have jaw cancer again.

Good thing God is in control,
and will see us through this time.
He is allowing this for some reason.

I pray that my children will see that
God is good ALL the time--
and ALL the time God is good!
